Volunteer Opportunities

To enhance all aspects of the educational process by providing student enrichment, individual educational assistance, and relieving teachers of some non-instructional tasks. To stimulate community interest and support through direct and positive participation in MSAD #9 schools.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: As a MSAD #9 volunteer, you might give us 20 minutes once a year or 3 hours per week. You may never come to a classroom, but prepare material or bake at home. Your gift of time and talent is always appreciated. Here are just a few volunteer possibilities. Assist in classrooms - School libraries - Science projects - Clerical help - Field trips - Special activities - Material preparation - Kindergarten registration - Small group helper - Computers - Foreign languages - Cooking - Winter Fun Days - Field Days. Come share with us - your travels, hobbies, careers, culinary talents (cookies to cordon bleu), artistic or musical talent, heritage, ethnic cooking, life experiences.

MENTORING: We are always looking for mentors for MSAD 9 students. Lunch Buddies meet once a week in our elementary schools for lunch and some one on one time. PALS (Positive Adult Lending Support) Middle School students are matched with community members and meet once a week for 45 minutes. Girls Talk at Academy Hill School is a literary based mentoring program for fifth and sixth grade girls meeting once a month for dinner.
