Many people know Healthy Community Coaltion from our 34-foot Mobile Health Unit. Others know us from the Wellness Fairs we offer throughout the community and by the festivals we take part in throughout the year. Participation in task forces focused on a variety of aspects of wellness; peer educators for the Breast and Cervical Health Program, volunteers for prevention programs, domestic violence prevention volunteers, volunteers for the Mobile Health Unit, and volunteers for office work. Get involved, make a difference! Join a community task force and help make these specific ideas work: Increase availability and awareness of existing walking maps. Help develop a directory of youth opportunities in Greater Franklin County and expand after school opportunities for youth. Expand Franklin Health Access. Improve access to local healthy eating choices. Develop a catalogue of local products and ways to store raw material to promote local bulk purchasing. Expand adult education courses on money management, cooking and other life skills. Engage area schools in improving environmental education. Develop a Youth Speaker's Bureau to support tobacco prevention efforts.
