| Services: | Rooted Youth is a new nonprofit organization working towards developing a teen center to serve local youth. We are currently organizing events and activities at various location including Swing dance lessons, movie nights, improv lessons, game nights and more! Rooted Youth's mission is to provide youth from Jay, Livermore, Livermore Falls, Fayette and communities beyond with opportunities in which *they are guided and mentored *they learn their value and potential *they are connected to needed resources *they are prepared for the future *and they learn the value of giving back and serving. Our emphasis is on mentoring because we believe from that all other components are a byproduct. Our aim is to incorporate a variety of approaches to mentoring including conversations, speakers, experience and modeling. Mentoring will occur through tutoring, enrichment activities, and through service projects as well as with individual mentoring. As part of our programs, we plan to include topics such as healthy living, interpersonal communication, aspirations, character building and leadership. |
