Services:  The purpose of the Council, as required under the federal Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000, is to ensure that individuals with developmental disabilities and their families participate in the design of, and have access to needed community services, individualized supports, and other forms of assistance that promote self determination, independence, productivity, integration, and inclusion in all facets of family and community life. The Council has a vision that all people are included, supported, and valued in communities that offer them opportunities to participate and succeed as they choose.

The Maine Developmental Disabilities Council conducts advocacy, capacity building and systemic change activities in the following areas of emphasis:

Healthy Community Coalition

Founded in 1989, Healthy Community Coalition (HCC) is an affiliate of the Franklin Community Health Network with a mission of promoting health and well-being in Franklin County and neighboring towns, including Livermore Falls.
